Question by misspelled99: What is your opinion on legalization of marijuana?
With all its medical benefits, should marijuana at least be made legal for medicinal purposes?

What do you think about total legalization of marijuana? How does legal marijuana (where you can smoke it in coffee shops and such) affect the countries and cultures that do not have bans on it?
The big problems that we have with the illegal part of marijuana is the drug dealers and the money handlers. If there is no need for a street dealer, and if people aren’t getting put in jail because of pot, then how much money can we save?

even though it does have benefits medically, i think that the negative aspects of it far outway the positive ones. i mean, marijuana is such a problem now, illegally, can you imagine if anyone had access to it??

What do you think? Answer below!

Look at all the issues we have with one legal drug (alcohol). Do we really want to add to the problem by creating another legal drug?

Besides – those ‘medical benefits’ for marijuana are 99% hot air. If people _need_ medical THC it is availible in medicin forms that have meet the standards for showing that they are ‘safe and effective’ treatments for those medical conditions. The only ‘disadvantage’ to medical THC is that you cannot get high.

If you want ‘medical marijuana’ then it needs to be regulated by the FDA just like any other medication.

I think marijuana should deffinatly be legilized, consitering you can still act completly normal, and do things the same way you would when you were soberr, why illigalize somethings that makes you feel good when its not really bad for you, and is not addictive. I thnk its crazy that something like salvia is legal yet pot is not

I personally became extremely offended when one of the previous answers stated that 99% of medical marijuana benefits are “full of hot air”. I’d like to know what sources he’s sighting or research he has done because I personally have experienced huge benefits from medical marijuana. As a person suffering from Lupus for over 10years, as well as sever loss of appetite from medications, anxiety and moderate depression among numerous other illnesses. The sickest times of my life were times that I have chose to sub stain from marijuana use.
The recent birth of my son left me considering stoping using of marijuana altogether due to the ‘stigma’ attached to it. I tried, and went a few weeks – almost immediately I got sick. Lupus flare up, awful arthritis/pain – not sleeping at all for nights on end… For the sake of my family and myself there is no doubt in my mind that I DO experience many more benefits from marijuana in ways that no oral anti-inflammatory, pain killer, or sleeping pill has ever helped me.
