Can my personal doctor write a recommendation for medical marijuana or do I have to go to a cannabis doctor to get it?

I am not from MI, but another MMJ state.
Most physicians simply won’t take that risk. They all have a DEA issued license, and without it they would not be able to practice…. so they err on the side of caution.
In my state, if you have cancer your oncologist MIGHT be willing to go out on limb for you. Otherwise, you would have to go to an MMJ doctor.
This is just the consequence of having conflicting state and Federal laws on the subject of marijuana.
